  11.     As an environmental-science major, I was pleased by your
  12. coverage of modern zoos. It is wonderful to see wildlife at peace
  13. in natural habitats rather than neurotic and in cages. But people
  14. do not always appreciate open settings. At the Bronx Zoo, I have
  15. seen visitors threaten the well-being of the animals. Many expect
  16. to be entertained by them rather than to learn from them.
